      The first time I heard the words “Torture Porn” was a few years back when we were discussing the popularity of films like “HOSTEL”   and “SAW”.But to me that title just didnt live-up to those films, however the other day after watching Daisuke Yamanouchi’s  “RED ROOM” I realized that I had found a movie that actually  lived up to that title, Torture Porn or Gorno.
                       The story premise is basic, we don’t need too many people here, just a room with four very desperate individuals who will do  whatever it takes to take home the money and disgrace and eventually dehumanize themselves in the due  process. We first meet Hirami, a a sweet sexy little school-girl who is later revealed to be a boy. Thats right friend a He, she and she or he wants the money for a sex-change operation honest enough grounds I suppose. Then we meet a couple in their thirties that need to get out of massive debt,  and then we meet a mysterious and cute girl in her twenties who doesn’t specify in the film why she’s risking so much for the cash. Or maybe I just missed that part, this point I didn’t think it mattered much anyhow because this is Japanese cinema and they get pretty ruthless in horror, so I braced myself for what may come. unfortunatly the gore was low-key in this flick.
           The game they play goes like this, they are in a room with cameras and audio equipment set-up. They sit round a table draw a card. One card is the king. That person tells the group what to do. The movie starts off slow and stupid but believe me it builds up. And this film does have more sex and violence than gore, and the gore factor is very low to say the least. But the Nudity is good,  Overall  I give this one .....................
