Slasher Horror
The Slasher film is a sub-genre of the horror film genre. Slasher is also refered to as campy and almost all these films stories revolve around a group of teens stranded in some romote place getting hacked up. By some lone psycotic individual weilding an instrument of death, which usually comes in a bloody slashing event. . Although the term "slasher" may be used as a generic term for any horror movie involving graphic acts of murder, the slasher as a genre has its own set of characteristics which set it apart from related genres like the splatter film. Slashers generally don't use the heavy gore or blood that is seen in splatter films and slashers don't rely so heavily with the gore being overally cheesy to the point of being funny as often times found as gimicks in splatter films.
